In recent years, Sony has been trying to create an extended universe in the vein of the MCU. The Sony Spider-Man Universe
You surely know the Marvel Cinematic Universe if you are a fan of Spider-Man, and of the Avengers in general. Sony tries to innovate by providing movies featuring known villains, and others a little less, original comics. The Japanese audiovisual giant begins its odyssey with Venom in 2018, directed by Ruben Fleischer (Uncharted, Zombieland). Indeed, El Muerto, Aka Juan Carlos, is a latino wrestler who fights against Spider-Man during a furious match. After his defeat, our wrestler is taken from El Dorado, a minor of Spider-Man's universe. Fortunately for him, El Muerto gets helped by the spider man to undo the man with the gold mask. This is where Bad Bunny comes into play, because Sony intends to use this original story to enlarge his universe.
But don't wait to see Bad Bunny at the cinema right away! Sony Pictures already plans two feature films for 2023. Kraven the Hunter, and Madame Web , two emblematic villains from comics, will do Their appearance on the big screen next year.
What connections with the MCU?
On the side of Marvel, You were able to see the links between the SSU and the McU in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
