The Delight Works Game Division, which is the team responsible for Destiny / great order, has been purchased by Triplex. Before the purchase, the game division will become a separate company, which will then become a total property subsidiary of Triplex, which in turn is owned by Sony. Triplex has been the editor of the game since its release for the first time, but now the game and its developer will be owned by Sony. It is a bit early to say it with certainty, but this could indicate that the company is looking to make great movements in the mobile game department. At this time, it is not clear how expensive the purchase will be.
For those who are not familiar with Destination / Great Order, the free game launched in Japan in 2015, and in North America in 2017. During the last six years, the game has become one of the most Raquel mobile titles in the world, generating billions every year. The game has also inspired spin-offs (including one for PlayStation VR), an anime, a manga and even plays.
Mobile games have grown exponentially during the last decade. There are many reasons why some players do not like, especially because of the speed with which microtransactions accumulate. In fact, microtransactions in Ernestine / great order have led to incredible expenses reports in the game; A 2018 Wall Street Journal report described a man who spent $70,000! This type of expenditure is still a great source of controversy, but given the income that fortune / great order has seen, it is not difficult to understand why they are so attractive for companies like Sony.
Since triplex has been involved in the game from the beginning, the fanatics can be calm; It is unlikely that the change of property gives rise to important changes in the game. However, it will be interesting to see if this leads PlayStation to invest more in the general market of mobile games.
